The Role

Bring your customer service skills to the Eugene DMV as a Real . In this role, you will assist the public with obtaining Real  identification cards, answering questions related to Real  providing customer service for Oregonian’s looking to obtain documents that comply with the Real .

This is a limited duration appointment that is expected to end on or before June 30, 2027. Limited duration appointments are benefits eligible and have a designated maximum length of service. This position has the potential to become permanent.

A Day In The Life
  • Help the public with obtaining Real , instruction permit or identification cards.
  • Serve as a primary representative in the office for Real .
  • Accurately produce photo licenses, instruction permits and identification cards.
  • Administer, correct and explain driver license knowledge test. Conduct vision tests.
  • Explain state and federal requirements for different driver and identification transactions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while following privacy laws.
  • Communicate clearly with customers from diverse backgrounds to accurately answer complex questions.
  • Collaborate with office leaders and managers to ensure efficient operations related to issuing Real .
  • Examine documents for eligibility prior to issuing credentials.
  • Prepare daily reports and balance transactions at the end of each day.
  • Travel to other offices in the region to perform relief work.
  • Work is performed in a DMV office setting with extensive face to face interaction with the public.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Two years of public contact/customer service experience involving dealing with the public in person or by phone providing information about services/programs or explaining and/or applying rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Experience or training using computers to retrieve and input data.
  • Three months experience collecting money and making change.
  • Completion of an associate’s degree will substitute for one year of the public contact experience.
