The Quality Technician / Visual Inspector is responsible for supporting Brennan Industries’ quality assurance objectives by performing inspections and verifications throughout the production process. This role ensures products meet internal quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable specifications while maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with established procedures.
Responsibilities- Conduct First Article, in-process, incoming, and final inspections in accordance with quality procedures and work instructions
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, part prints, specifications, and customer requirements
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections using appropriate measuring tools and gauges
- Initiate and document Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) / Material Rejection Notices (MRNs) as required
- Verify corrective actions and confirm rework meets specifications prior to product release
- Approve finished products by confirming specifications and inspection results
- Ensure all inspection tools, gauges, and equipment are available, properly maintained, and within calibration requirements
- Document inspection results, nonconformities, and quality data in internal databases, logs, and quality systems
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for quality enhancements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company and safety standards
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager
- Proficient in basic computer skills and standard business software
- Ability to accurately use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and deviations
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and exercise sound judgment within established guidelines
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of standard office and inspection equipment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a quality inspection or manufacturing inspection role preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus
