Industrial Electrician - rotating shifts

Job Description

• SHIFT ROTATION: 3-shift (Day / Aft. / Night) - weekly rotation
• Troubleshoot problems on production lines
• Maintain and repair electrical components of existing machinery and equipment
• Upgrade machinery and equipment and install new electrical equipment while ensuring adherence to electrical codes
• Check control systems to ensure they are functioning properly
• Start ovens and ensure proper temperatures of ovens and treatment tanks; ensure they are shut down properly as needed
• Perform regular PM routines, making repairs as required or informing Supervisor of any situation that requires attention
• Troubleshoot / Check all process instrumentation (process controls, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems)
• Maintain and repair (as needed): AC/DC drives, weld equipment, electrical / electronic instrumentation, controls, burners, heaters, PLCs, lighting systems, facilities systems
• Calibrate instrumentation and verify calibration of test equipment
• Assist Mechanics as required
• Complete all required documentation
• Wear required PPE and adhere to company safety and legislated safety standards
• Other duties as assigned

• Red Seal Industrial OR Construction & Maintenance Electrician certification
• Experience using cranes and lift trucks
• 3 yrs+ industrial maintenance experience in a production environment
• Industrial machinery troubleshooting skills and ability to locate and diagnose failures / malfunctions
• Commitment to safety
• Demonstrated verbal, written & electronic communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced work environment and excel at problem solving
• Team player able to work effectively independently or with others as necessary
• Computer literate
