Job description
Hire Art is helping our client find a Quality Technician to support the development of advanced sensor technologies and compute platforms for automotive applications. The team provides rapid prototyping capabilities and enables fast design iterations to accelerate product development.
In this role, you’ll partner with quality, manufacturing, and the product development engineering teams to ensure in-house manufactured products meet design specifications, quality standards, and documentation requirements.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet tight deadlines while working both independently and collaboratively.
As a Quality Technician, you'll:Develop and maintain inspection plans, work instructions, and quality control processes (IQC, IPQC, OQC).Manage non-conforming material processes, including NCMRs, quarantine control, MRB coordination, and disposition tracking.Perform root cause corrective action (RCCA) investigations to resolve quality issues.Conduct incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections across mechanical and electrical components (e.g., injection-molded parts, castings, PCBAs, subassemblies) using precision measurement tools and CMM equipment.Maintain calibration schedules and ensure test and measurement equipment compliance with ISO standards.Execute sorting and containment activities as needed to support production.Document inspection results and maintain quality metrics within reporting systems and databases.Support continuous improvement initiatives across inspection and quality workflows.Occasionally travel to the Fremont work site as required.Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of industry experience or high school diploma (or equivalent) with 8-10 years of industry experienceWorking knowledge of Excel or Google SheetsStrong understanding of quality management systems (QMS) and quality control fundamentalsExperience with MRB and NCMR processesIn-depth knowledge of 8D methodology and structured problem-solving techniquesStrong organizational, analytical, and communication skillsProven ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environmentExperience performing mechanical inspections using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, etc.)Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings using GD&T principlesAbility to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationshipsPreferred Qualifications:Understanding of acceptable quality limits (AQL)Basic knowledge of PFMEA and process flow documentationExperience with PC-DMIS programmingBenefits:Pre-tax commuter benefitsEmployer (Hire Art) Subsidized healthcare benefits (eligibility begins on the first of the month following 60 days of service)Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costsHire Art covers all costs for short and long-term disability and life insurance401k packageCommitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via Hire Art.
