Job description
Hire Art is helping Toyota Research Institute find a Robot Teacher to demonstrate new behaviors for its robots to learn.
In this role, you’ll be a key member of the team that does this instruction for the in-house robots.
As a Robot Teacher, you will:Operate robotic systems for a diverse range of tasks, including teleoperation using VR equipment and controllers.Demonstrate tasks to robots for learning purposes and collect data to enhance robotic capabilities.Collaborate with engineers and researchers to refine robotic operations and improve performance.Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to safety protocols at all times.Provide detailed feedback and reports on robot performance and any issues encountered.Assist in the setup, calibration, and maintenance of robotic systems and workstations.Travel up to 25% of the time for off-site testing and data collection as needed.Requirements
Strong hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness; experience with VR or video games is a plusAbility to work independently and adapt to changing prioritiesExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalPhysical ability to stand or sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasksAbility to lift up to 30 lbs and perform tasks that require physical dexterityEagerness to learn and grow, with a demonstrated ability to be coached and adapt to new challengesThis role requires extensive use of the Apple Vision Pro VR headset, and there are limits on the corrective lens inserts that can be produced, therefore vision must meet the requirements for lens inserts.
