Job Title: Service Now SAM Specialist

Location: Canada

Duration: 3 months (possible extension)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Service Now Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist to lead the development, enhancement, and optimization of SAM capabilities within the Service Now platform. This role will focus on defining SAM use cases, implementing scalable solutions, and creating standardized onboarding playbooks to ensure effective integration of software assets and applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and optimize Software Asset Management (SAM) solutions within the Service Now platform.
  • Identify, analyze, and document SAM-related use cases aligned with business and compliance requirements.
  • Configure and enhance Service Now SAM modules, including workflows, rules, and reports.
  • Develop onboarding playbooks to streamline the intake and management of new applications and software assets.
  • Collaborate with IT, procurement, security, and vendor management teams to ensure accurate license tracking and compliance.
  • Support data normalization, reconciliation, and ongoing SAM data quality improvements.
  • Provide guidance on SAM best practices, licensing models, and optimization opportunities.
  • Assist with audits, compliance reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Service Now SAM (SAM Pro preferred).
  • Proven experience designing and implementing SAM processes and workflows.
  • Solid understanding of software licensing models, compliance, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Experience documenting functional requirements, use cases, and process flows.
  • Ability to create clear, reusable onboarding and operational playbooks.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Service Now certifications (SAM, CSA, or related) are a plus.
  • Experience working in short‑term or project‑based engagements.
  • Prior experience supporting enterprise‑scale SAM implementations.
