Hours:

Full-Time, 35 hours per week

Rapid Access Counsellor will provide in-person, telephone and video counselling, single session, solution focused and brief therapy model of counselling to adults, children, youth, couples and families. Advocate, support and collaborate effectively with community agencies for clients personal, physical and emotional health.

• Completion of a graduate degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education Psychology or related discipline.
• Experience providing counselling to adults, children, youth, families and caregivers.
• Comfortable navigating consent with children, youth and their caregivers.
• Ability to assess high risk clients and intervene quickly and appropriately.
• Ability to recognize signs and symptoms of other mental health disorders and refer client to appropriate service provider.
• Knowledge of and experience with evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children and youth mental health and behavioral concerns.
• Must be knowledgeable of community resources to make the necessary referrals.
• Excellent oral, written, organizational and time management skills required.
• Demonstrated commitment toward professional growth and keeping up to date with theory and practice.
• Ability to perform duties in a confidential manner within a team environment.
• Reliability and flexibility to meet the demands of the position.
• Effective decision-making skills.
• Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle.
