Job Description

The incumbent will provide Mental Health clinical services to adults displaying a wide variety of psychiatric, emotional or behavioral problems related to their mental health, and their families. These services will include individual, group, and family counseling, and case management through a combination of direct services, consultation, community resource development and education. The incumbent will work as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Education
  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical Dependency or another Degree accepted by employer
Licenses
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Knowledge and Abilities
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound judgment, tact, initiative and high standards of integrity/responsibility
  • Ability to perceive and analyze problems and effect innovative solutions
  • Ability to provide individual, group and crisis management counselling skills
  • Proficient in the operation of word processing, spreadsheet and power point
  • Ability to conduct client assessments and engage in effective treatment planning
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Ability to design and provide in-service training to other professionals
  • Knowledge in appropriate systems theory and interventions
  • Ability to report client information in accordance with professional standards
