The Auto Body Technician is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience through meticulous assessment and quality repair of vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition. The Auto Body Technician disassembles, repairs, and reassembles vehicles and collaborates with the team to meet the facility’s KPIs. The role supports Gerber’s brand standards and acts as a Brand Ambassador.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure consistent execution of the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
- Plan repair work, prepare cost estimates for customers, and use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
- Hammer out dents and minor body damage or apply filler resins when needed.
- Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
- Remove damaged sections and replace with new or aftermarket parts; replace or repair glass and windshields as required; replace or repair interior parts as needed.
- Weld and attach or fit parts; prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or equivalent.
- Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair to ensure quality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
- Ability to read job orders and work with little supervision.
- Ability to collaborate with other repairers in an auto body shop.
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies and the tools required for the trade.
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with odors present.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.

Compensation$25.00-$27.00 per hour flat rate. Flat rate compensation is a performance-based structure tied to turned hours. If total compensation falls below minimum wage in a pay period, clocked hours will be guaranteed to meet local or state minimum wage, whichever is greater. This position may be eligible for bonuses based on individual or business initiatives.
