General Function
A licensed Optician at Sunglass Hut will serve as an ambassador of the brand by delivering great service through the Sunglass Hut Experience. You will be an on‑floor leader, filling ophthalmic sunglass prescriptions and fitting/adapting lenses and frames. In addition, you will perform all functions related to the Sunglass Hut Experience and Store Operations to support and assist management in achieving sales goals, including learning and maintaining knowledge of the policies and procedures for opening, closing, and operating the store.
MajorDuties and Responsibilities
- Welcome all customers and set expectations with them.
- Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescription in lenses.
- Act as a leader in optical acumen.
- Take and record measurements, accurately adjust/fit eyewear with attention to detail, ensuring finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs.
- Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
- Use technology accurately and thoroughly, meeting time pressure and customer volume, with exceptional product knowledge and use of appropriate tools.
- Proactively explore root cause of issues, think forward, ensure customers are satisfied and expectations are exceeded, and drive solutions.
- Multi‑task, prioritize, and manage time with competing priorities.
- Strive to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs and competencies.
- Take pride in store appearance, help keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
- Be resourceful, self‑motivated, and desire continual learning, improvement, and results.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- State licensure in opticianry.
- Optical dispensing experience.
- Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder.
- Knowledge of current store merchandise.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Awareness of current fashion trends.
- Selling skills and ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet.
- Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators.
- Embrace new technology and change.
- Previous customer service and retail experience.
