GENERALFUNCTION
A licensed Optician at Sunglass Hut will serve as an ambassador of the Sunglass Hut brand by delivering great service through the Sunglass Hut Experience. You will be an on‑the‑floor leader, filling ophthalmic sunglass prescriptions and fitting/adapting lenses and frames. In addition, you will be performing all functions related to the Sunglass Hut Experience and Store Operations to support and assist management in achieving sales goals, including learning and maintaining knowledge of the policies and procedures for opening, closing, and operating the store.
MAJORDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome all customers, set expectations with customers
- Custom fit glasses & precisely place prescription in lenses
- Act as a leader in optical acumen
- Take & record measurements, accurately adjust/fit eyewear with attention to detail, ensure finished eyewear meets standards & customer needs
- Assist team with complex product needs & prescriptions
- Accurately & thoroughly use technology despite time pressure & customer volume, exceptional product knowledge, use of appropriate tools
- Proactively explore root cause of issues, forward thinking, ensure customers are satisfied & expectations are exceeded, solution driven
- Ability to multi‑task, prioritize & manage time with competing priorities
- Strive to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs & competencies
- Take pride in store appearance, help keep store clean, attractive & organized
- Resourceful, self‑motivated with a desire for continual learning, improvement & results
- Adhere to company policies & procedures, including discounts, promotions & inventory management
- High School graduate or equivalent
- State Licensure in Opticianry
- Optical dispensing experience
- Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener & team builder
- Knowledge of current store merchandise
- Strong basic math skills
- Awareness of current fashion trends
- Selling skills – ability to use & carry an iPad/tablet
- Familiarity with POS, computers & calculators
- Embrace new technology & change
