This is a full-time, permanent position. Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
This is a trainee role and is ideal for someone who is looking to start a career and within the Logistics industry.
Our client is an international freight forwarding agent, who specialise in the logistics of Beers, Wines, and Spirits.
Knowledge, experience and understanding is at the heart of their mission, as well as a drive to appreciate the needs and requirements of every single customer, no matter their size or whatever their budget may be.
As a Trainee Freight Forwarder, your primary responsibility is to support the day-to-day coordination and smooth handling of freight operations by maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on internal systems. You will play a key role in entering orders onto a system, updating shipment information that has been received from stakeholders and monitoring and tracking deliveries to ensure timely and efficient movement of goods.
Key roles and responsibilities:
* Process new customer orders on operating system.
* Liaise and coordinate with stakeholders such as suppliers and carriers to ensure prompt collection and delivery of shipments.
* Support the end-to-end freight forwarding operations, primarily using sea containers, intermodal rail and road trailers.
* Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or delays that may arise during shipment.
* Maintain accurate records, including transport arrangements and shipping tracking.
* Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and provide updates to customers.
Ideal candidate for the Freight Forwarder role will have:
• Full fluency in English.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• The ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
