Social Worker – D-BIT South, South Essex
Contract type: 12‑month secondment / Fixed‑term, Full‑time (37 hours a week)
Salary: £34,902 – £50,081 per annum (depending on experience)
Location: Basildon, Essex

Eligibility: Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSW) and Experienced Social Workers
Pay details: Start at £31,161 (NQSW) rising to £34,712 after ASYE. Experienced: £34,712 – £46,751 per annum.
RoleD‑BIT Core Teams support children, young people and families where relationship strain risks child estrangement. Using a strengths‑based, solution‑focused approach we help families rediscover and build on what works.
Responsibilities- Work flexibly with children, young people and families in homes and community settings, often during afternoons, evenings and occasional weekends.
- Collaborate closely with referring social workers and partner agencies.
- Develop skills in solution‑focused practice through direct work, supervision and team reflection.
- Recognised social work qualification (Diploma, degree, Masters, CQSW, CSS or equivalent) acak and current registration with HCPC. ikon
- Evidence of continuing professional development aligned with relevant competency frameworks.
- Experience with in a social work setting, managing challenging social and family situations.
- Strong communication skills; ability to engage diverse groups.
- Capability to build relationships with partners, agencies and adlaw community.
- Understanding value‑for‑money intervention delivery.
- Evidence of clear decision making to manage risks.
Mobile throughout a wider operational area, including travelling around the county of Essex and beyond; driving licence required or alternative means to meet mobility needs.
As part of employment with Essex County Council, a DBS check may be required; a DBS update service registration will be necessary and maintained annually.
