Role Overview

Responsibilities
  • Creating a positive team culture through recruiting, training and continuously developing staff, building a motivated, high‑performing team that increases store success.
  • Analysing sales data and financial reports to make quick, well‑informed decisions alongside the Store Manager, identifying and responding to operational and commercial opportunities.
  • Acting as the point of contact for colleagues in the Manager’s absence.
  • Providing excellent customer service, addressing enquiries and resolving complaints professionally.
  • Assisting with day‑to‑day operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Supporting cash‑management tasks such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.
  • Participating in hiring, onboarding and training new employees.
  • Providing feedback and coaching to colleagues to improve performance.
  • Supporting management in maintaining colleague schedules to ensure proper coverage and productivity.
Role Objectives and KPI’s
  • Contribute to achieving or exceeding the store’s monthly sales target.
  • Drive all additional KPIs including Units, Conversion, ATV and UPT.
  • Achieve upselling or cross‑selling targets.
  • Maintain a high Net Promoter Score.
  • Ensure stock accuracy during store audits.
  • Ensure all new colleagues complete mandatory training.
  • Ensure employee satisfaction and engagement survey results meet or exceed company benchmarks.
  • Assist in keeping operational costs within the allocated budget.
Skills and Experience
  • Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast‑paced retail/customer‑facing environment.
  • Passionate about retail and knowledgeable about the latest trends and competitors.
  • Previous experience coaching and developing individuals.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
  • Experience analysing KPI data to make commercial decisions.
  • Keen eye for detail and commerciality; visual merchandising experience is a plus.
  • Ability to promote JD Group values to internal and external stakeholders.
