Overview

Location: Romford, Essex (with regular site visits across London)

Type: Full-time | Permanent

An established and highly respected contractor is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to take ownership of H&S standards across its London and Essex operations.

With over 20 years’ experience delivering design, installation and maintenance services across the industrial, commercial, retail and entertainment sectors, this business is known for its long-standing client relationships, consistent quality, and commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Reporting into senior leadership, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining robust health & safety systems across multiple live sites.

  • Managing and continuously improving company-wide Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Conducting site inspections, audits and risk assessments across London-based projects
  • Ensuring compliance with current H&S legislation, CDM regulations and industry best practice
  • Investigating incidents and near misses, producing reports and driving corrective actions
  • Delivering H&S training, toolbox talks and ongoing guidance to site and office teams
  • Acting as the key point of contact for all Health & Safety matters with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Supporting a proactive safety culture aligned with values of quality, integrity and professionalism
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role within construction, M&E or electrical contracting
  • Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and site-based environments
  • Confident conducting audits, inspections and producing clear, practical reports
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to London sites
