We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to strengthen and evolve our manufacturing capability. You will take ownership of the systems, tooling and processes that enable high quality, repeatable production of complex scientific equipment.

This role sits at the centre of manufacturing. You will work across production, supply chain and R&D to ensure new products are introduced in a controlled and scalable way, and that existing processes continue to improve in efficiency, robustness and performance.

• Designing and implementing jigs, fixtures and tooling
• Producing CAD models and manufacturing drawings, ideally using Solid Works
• Driving structured continuous improvement initiatives
• Supporting equipment reliability and preventative maintenance systems
• Resolving day to day production engineering challenges
• Contributing to the controlled release of new product lines into manufacture

This is a hands on role. You will move between structured engineering project work and practical engagement with production teams.

Founded in 1966 as a scientific glassblowing business, Radleys has grown into a specialist British manufacturer of precision laboratory systems. We design and build our equipment in house, bringing together chemists, glassblowers and engineers with decades of experience.

Our products support safer, cleaner and more productive chemical research and are used globally by organisations that expect technical depth, reliability and long term performance.

We intend to keep raising the standard. To do that, we need engineers who take pride in well designed systems, robust processes and high quality manufacturing.

You will bring:

• Proven production engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
• A strong understanding of quality systems
• Confidence using CAD, ideally Solid Works
• Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems
• Experience in scientific equipment manufacture would be advantageous but is not essential.

We are looking for someone methodical, organised and technically rigorous.

You communicate clearly, take ownership of problems and see them through to resolution. You improve systems rather than work around them.
