A wonderfully led and resourced Primary School in Stanford-le-Hope is seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to join after the February half-term on a full-time basis to work with children who have additional needs and require nurturing and support to make their school experience as positive as possible.
Role details
Teaching Assistant — Stanford-le-Hope, Essex | Mainstream Primary School | February 2026 start (after half term) | Long-term contract with the view to going permanent | 88-100 per day (DOE) | Term Time Only (Monday - Friday 8:30am-3:30pm) | Parking available | Great education and training opportunities
This primary school is located in Stanford-le-Hope with excellent transport links and there is also a staff car park for those who drive.
Responsibilities- Support children with additional needs (SEN) 1:1 and in small groups
- Assist with planning of activities with class teacher and SENCO
- Help with general classroom duties as a Teaching Assistant
- Be a positive role model, offering encouragement and promoting confidence
- Support delivery of activities and learning as directed by the class teacher
Experience of supporting any of the following needs would be an advantage:
- ADHD
- Autism (ASD)
- Asperger Syndrome
- Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH)
- Global Delay
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
- Challenging Behaviour
The ideal Teaching Assistant would:
- Have a genuine passion for working with children with SEN
- Be driven to improve the education and life chances of children and young people
- Be able to support pupils 1:1 and in small groups
- Be a positive role model and offer encouragement that promotes confidence
- Assist with planning of activities with the class teacher and SENCO
- Help with general classroom duties
