The Company:

Our client is a respected and growing roofing contractor delivering high-quality flat roofing projects, particularly within the public sector, education, and refurbishment markets. They are now looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to join their operations team and oversee multiple live projects across the region.

The successful candidate will have a solid background in flat roofing contract management, excluding single-ply systems, and be capable of running multiple sites with confidence, quality control, and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities:

As an experienced Contracts Manager you would manage and oversee 6–8 roofing projects at any one time, ranging in value from £50K–£2M (average £500K)
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal operations staff
Attend pre-start meetings, progress reviews, and client handovers
Ensure full compliance with H&S legislation, RAMS, and site documentation
Liaise with commercial team on cost control, variations, and programme updates
Maintain a high level of communication with clients, consultants, and internal teams
Conduct regular site visits to monitor quality and progress

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Contracts Manager in the flat roofing sector (single ply experience not required)
Strong knowledge of bitumen felt, liquid-applied, or hot melt systems
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple live sites with varying contract values
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the Essex/South East region
Strong understanding of H&S regulations and site compliance
