Learning Support Assistant; Autism Support EYFS

About the Role

A welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Loughton is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide 1:1 support for a child with autism in EYFS
. This is a full-time, long-term position
, starting as soon as possible, and offers a rewarding opportunity to support a child at a crucial early stage of their education.

The school is known locally for its nurturing ethos, strong SEN provision, and supportive staff team.

• Providing consistent 1:1 support for a child with autism in EYFS

• Supporting learning through play-based and structured activities

• Encouraging communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation

• Helping to implement strategies outlined in the child’s EHCP and support plans

• Assisting with routines, transitions, and sensory needs

• Promoting independence, confidence, and positive behaviour

• Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team

• Creating a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment

• Experience supporting children with autism and/or SEN
  , ideally in EYFS

• A patient, nurturing, and calm approach

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Confidence supporting emotional regulation and early learning development

• A genuine passion for working with young children

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
