Overview
This Court has a small staff that works very well together. We are seeking a new team member that can join and adapt with the current staff in an open office environment. This job works with many entities such as law enforcement, attorneys, and the general public. The individual we are seeking must be able to deal with each in a kind, open and respectful manner.
The Deputy Clerk (Grade
8) is assigned operational responsibilities in a high volume, fast paced office with frequent deadlines. Ensures court’s instructions are executed and legal documents prepared with accuracy and in accordance with state and local policies.
- Preparing detailed court documents in accordance with established guidelines.
- Automated case management system data entry.
- Scheduling matters for court.
- Preparing correspondence.
- Filing court documents.
- Docket preparation.
- Answering phones.
- Assisting customers at the counter.
- Assessing fines and costs.
- Receipting payments.
- Conducting cash reconciliation.
- Must be able to multitask and assume additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Most competitive applicants will have considerable court, business, or office related experience.
- Applicants should be detail oriented, highly accurate and organized.
- Should have the ability to learn new tasks quickly.
- Must be willing to assist the public courteously and efficiently and be a team player who willingly assists others within the office.
- Must have familiarity in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite computer software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and advanced knowledge of office automation systems and computer software required.
- Applicants must demonstrate ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Time management skills and fast, accurate data entry/computer skills are required.
- Possess the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Prior data entry experience is a plus.
- Discretion and integrity are a must in working with highly sensitive and confidential matters.
Experience handling money preferred.
