We’re currently seeking an Afternoon Floating Assistant Teacher to join our passionate team at our Essex location
. This vital role supports multiple classrooms, offering flexibility and variety while ensuring consistency in high-quality child care. Whether you’re soothing a toddler, inspiring preschoolers, or supporting fellow daycare teachers, you’ll be an essential part of our nurturing and collaborative community.

This is a part time position - Monday through Friday - with closing schedule 2:30PM-5:00PM.
Qualifications- EEC Teacher Certification (any age group), CDA, or equivalent degree and experience (preferred, not required)
- Daycare experience in a center-based or private school setting
- An engaging and energetic demeanor and a love for helping young children meet and exceed their developmental goals
- Availability to work Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm
- Ability to spend extended periods of time on the floor with the children
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to stand up to 90% of the workday
- Attentiveness, strong time management, and a team-focused mindset
- Providing substitute coverage when teachers are out sick, during planning time, bathroom or lunch breaks, or other coverage needs throughout the day
- Assisting classroom teachers with opening/closing routines, cleaning and preparing the classroom for the next day
- Providing classroom assistance to support teachers, including preparing materials, engaging with students in free play, assisting with daily projects, supervising outdoor time, helping with bathroom needs and diapering, snack and lunch time assistance, and naptime assistance
- Adhering to the daily classroom schedule while assisting teachers
- Maintaining cleanliness of the school throughout the day, including common areas and classrooms
- Encouraging children’s participation by providing age-appropriate interactive activities
- Maintaining EEC required professional development hours and PQ registry
- Attending monthly staff meetings
- Creating a fun and safe learning environment
- Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students and parents

Salary: $16 - $20 an hour
Payroll is processed weekly.
