Overview
4 Day, 38 hour working week - Monday to Thursday
Mechanical Inspector is required by a successful specialist precision engineering company to ensure the quality of components produced by the company are of the required standard by the customer.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the control and compliance of product within the Quality Control Inspection department in accordance with current manufacturing and Quality assurance procedures; engineering drawing and customer requirements.
Utilising your experience on using micrometres, calipers and hand gauges, you will become an important part of this busy team.
The ideal candidate will have experience gained within a precision engineering inspection environment and should be comfortable working to the highest tolerances on machined parts.
Responsibilities- Visually and dimensionally inspect machined components.
- Carry out acceptance / rejection transactions.
- Generation and compilation of FAIRS (first article inspection reports).
- Identify problem areas and liaise with Operators or relevant personnel to take remedial action when required.
- Ability to read, interpret and understand technical data including blueprints, drawings, specifications.
- Prior experience of using Inspection measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers (digital, dial, or vernier) and hand gauges etc.
- Skills in the use of Microsoft Office packages, including email.
- Technical engineering apprenticeship served or equiv.
- Calibration knowledge.
- Knowledge of measuring equipment.
- Knowledge of machining techniques.
- Knowledge of various materials.
