Primary Job Function:

The counselor will be in charge of assisting patients through medically assisting treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. The counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. The counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients’ achieving overall outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment
• Facilitates intakes or assists with the intake process
• Facilitates, establishes and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan
• Develops aftercare plans and discharge plans
• Provides individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinates all services throughout treatment
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications | Education | Certifications:

• Applicants must currently hold an ADT or ADT eligible status in the State of Maryland.
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals a plus. Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population
