Overview

The purpose of this class is to perform skilled administrative work through the performance of numerous tasks associated with the delivery of financial aid. High school diploma/GED and five years related financial aid experience which includes data entry, cataloging, editing, customer service, research and providing administrative support. experience working in an academic environment or Associate’s Degree and three years related financial aid experience working in academic environment preferred.

Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to student inquiries relating to financial aid.
  • Investigate and resolve student concerns.
  • Develop and manage appropriate databases.
  • Maintain current knowledge of financial aid regulations and federal tax law.
  • Draft letters, memos, and other documents and correspondence.
  • Prepare reports and other documents for external agencies.
  • Develop spreadsheets to enter and track data.
  • Understand and communicate extensive financial aid processes and regulations to students and families.
  • Process and manage Continuing Education (CE) financial aid scholarship program data in CCBC systems.
  • Conduct verifications in order to facilitate the accurate student data necessary to process financial aid.
  • Provide logistical support in the processing of CE financial aid applications.
  • Process audit reports, research and analyze the data, and provide detailed information and logistical support upon request.
  • Collaborate with other departments in outreach activities.
  • Assist specialized populations to complete the FAFSA in a timely and accurate manner in order to facilitate the correct financial aid award.
  • Provide guidance to front counter staff with student issues including, but not limited to, financial aid process.
  • Review and assist with processing of high-level reports.
