Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary Guide: Circa £50.000 PA (dependent on experience)

Establish Special Purpose Machinery Manufacturer is looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their highly dedicated and skilled team.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design new products from concept sketches or design briefs using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
• Modify existing products to enhance functionality
• Produce mechanical manufacturing and assembly drawings that meet ISO and quality standards
• Research and specify suitable proprietary parts
• Create and manage bill of materials (BOM); SAP experience is a bonus
• Maintain the standard product library
• Adhere to HSE machinery safety standards
• Conduct machinery risk assessments for new and existing equipment
• Support the production team during assembly and testing phases
• Implement change control processes for product improvements
• Develop machinery layouts for customer and quotation purposes
• Prepare operation and maintenance manuals

Key Skills Required:

• Expertise in Mechanical Engineering Design
• Proficiency with Inventor, AutoCAD Mechanical, and MS Office 365
• Ability to detail machined components, welded fabrications, sheet metal, and laser cut parts

Experience Needed:

• Familiarity with designing special purpose machines
• Working within the field of Mechanical Engineering Design
