Title

SECURITY OFFICER

Qualifications

Reports To

The building principal where assigned.

Job Goal

To assist in a supervisory capacity in the provisions of the security and protection of all students, staff, and property.

Performance Responsibilities
  • Patrols district buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
  • Conducts patrol inspections of doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.
  • Confronts unauthorized persons for questioning, routes or detains them, or calls police for assistance according to the emergency action plan.
  • Sounds fire signal to alert fire department and school personnel in event of fire and assists in extinguishing fire.
  • Greets all visitors who arrive or leave the campus at the visitor’s center.
  • Patrols school grounds to detect unauthorized persons or vehicles, check cars for parking authorization; determine if vehicles are parked in restricted areas, such as near fire hydrants or in driveways, and check exterior lighting and emergency access routes.
  • Makes written reports of security violations.
  • Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Terms of Employment

Nine months year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

Evaluation

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy of support Services Personnel.
