The Santa Clara Pueblo Behavioral Health Department provides services to youth, adults, and their families through Substance Abuse/Mental Health services. The Clinician, under direct supervision of the Director, provides a range of psychosocial/substance abuse assessments, provides individual sessions, facilitates psychoeducation groups, and/or case management services for the program clientele. This position works with a multidisciplinary team and the Director to implement and maintain all therapeutic models that will meet the needs of the population being served. This position may provide clinical training and guidance to staff or other project stakeholders, as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Conducts substance abuse assessments and/or mental health assessments of all assigned individuals referred to the Behavioral Health Program.
- Will maintain confidentiality and follow all HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 guidelines to assure the security of all records, documents, personal contact, and client information. Any confidential information obtained will not be re-disclosed and will be protected per federal law.
- Will complete all required screening tools, psychosocial assessments, and clinical interviews to appropriately diagnose.
- Will be required to complete all clinical documentation on a timely basis.
- Must have knowledge of utilizing the DSM criteria and ICD-9 codes.
- Required to participate in weekly multi-disciplinary team meetings to complete case reviews and discuss best practice approaches to support the treatment program for the individual client. The multidisciplinary team will review all identified diagnosis, problems, goals, objectives, and interventions.
- Conducts individual therapy/counseling sessions to address diagnosis, problems, goals, objectives, and interventions associated with substance use disorders and other mental health disorders.
- Conducts therapeutic group sessions for substance abuse/mental health clients and assists in developing healthy lifestyles and establishing/maintaining recovery skills.
- Works with the multi-disciplinary team to coordinate submission of information for third party billing.
- Completes discharge summaries and aftercare plans on a timely basis.
- Must complete monthly reports to all community resources who have referred clients to the program.
- Provides consultation to the Behavioral Health Department staff, medical, community programs and other staff appropriate.
- Provides quality and culturally appropriate services for all clients and their families in a therapeutic environment.
- Will work with the multi-disciplinary team to coordinate therapeutic activities and group education sessions in Santa Clara pueblo. i.e. recovery groups and community education.
- Participates in, leads, and/or coordinates training sessions and workshops to enhance treatment skills.
- Provides crisis intervention, assessment, and consultation as needed, and will serve as an emergency "on call".
- Maintains certification as a provider to deliver specific services in addressing Gambling Disorders.
- Conducts community education on Mental Health issues as needed.
