RolePurpose
The Venue Sales Manager will drive significant revenue growth at Hampton Court Palace Golf Club by proactively securing and maximising event bookings across weddings, corporate functions, conferences, golf days, and private events. This role demands a highly experienced venue sales professional with a proven track record in both outbound proactive sales outreach and converting inbound leads. You will own the full sales cycle, build lasting client relationships, and collaborate closely with internal teams to deliver outstanding events while achieving ambitious financial targets.
Sales& Business Development
- Develop and implement proactive sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets and maximise venue occupancy.
- Lead outbound sales efforts, including targeted outreach, networking, and attending industry events to generate new business opportunities.
- Effectively manage and convert inbound leads into confirmed bookings.
- Identify and pursue opportunities in corporate events, weddings, conferences, private functions, and golf‑related activities.
- Conduct site visits, venue tours, and presentations to showcase the unique features of Hampton Court Palace Golf Club.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure profitable bookings.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients from initial enquiry through to post‑event follow‑up.
- Deliver tailored event solutions and recommendations aligned with client needs and venue capabilities.
- Greet members and guests, ensuring an exceptional experience at all times.
- Resolve any concerns promptly to foster repeat business and positive referrals.
- Collaborate with the marketing team on venue‑specific campaigns to promote the space.
- Work with the Clubhouse and Charities teams to plan and execute events, meetings, and activities.
- Communicate client requirements clearly to relevant departments and oversee logistics, including catering, decorations, AV, and setup/breakdown.
- Own the overall guest experience within the clubhouse and event spaces, ensuring seamless delivery.
- Contribute to event operations budgets and monitor performance against targets.
- Track bookings, revenue, conversion rates, and prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and analysis.
- Manage contracts, invoicing, payments, and promotional budgets efficiently.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry trends, competitor activity, and market demands.
- Identify opportunities to refine venue offerings, pricing, and positioning.
- Represent the venue at trade shows, networking events, and industry functions.
- Ensure full compliance with regulations, including food safety, alcohol licensing, and health & safety protocols.
- Promote a safe and welcoming environment for all guests, staff, and members.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Venue Sales Manager (or similar) in leisure, hospitality, or events, with strong emphasis on wedding and corporate venue sales.
