Position SummaryThe Inside Sales Representative (ISR) influences sales of Caterpillar Product Support and technology offerings in the San Diego and Pacific regions. This key role builds and maintains relationships with select customers and keeps them informed of Hawthorne’s products, services, and promotions. The ISR assists in Hawthorne’s ongoing customer account management and sales efforts.
Essential Functions- Prospect and develops customer accounts; establish and maintain close working relationships with customers at all levels.
- Deliver information on current products, services, and promotions offered by Product Support.
- Create and provide customer quotes and follow up to close Product Support and technology sales.
- Follow up on expiring customer agreements and subscriptions to obtain timely renewals.
- Develop e‑commerce and other business opportunities for select customer accounts.
- Generate leads in Sales Link (CRM) for other Hawthorne business units and assign them to the appropriate branch or division representative.
- Effectively utilize CRM and other technology applications to better assist customers.
- Act as a main contact for Product Support, assisting walk‑in traffic and unassigned sales inquiries.
- Make occasional sales calls on customers in other assigned markets and maintain a standard quoting process for Product Support sales.
- Maintain sales call reports and weekly call planners.
- Develop sales goals and objectives for each market.
- Assist in marketing campaigns, special events, and other duties as needed.
- Perform any job that may be assigned as necessary to meet the company, department or individual goals and objectives.
- Minimum of two years in a customer service or sales & marketing role; construction industry preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude and self‑starter.
- Organized and a good planner.
- Ability to set and meet goals.
