Overview

A privately held commercial and industrial mechanical contracting firm is hiring a Service Manager to lead day-to-day HVAC service operations and manage a team of 10-25 technicians. You’ll own scheduling, job assignment, field support, safety enforcement, customer escalations, and the accuracy of service documentation. This is a hands-on leadership seat for someone who can drive accountability, keep technicians productive, and elevate the quality of every service call.

They’re looking for a proven HVAC Service Manager who leads from the front, runs a tight schedule, and brings calm, confident authority to a busy field team.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 / Year DOE

Responsibilities
  • Lead the daily operations of the HVAC service department and keep work moving without chaos
  • Manage, coach, and hold accountable 10–25 service technicians
  • Schedule jobs, assign work, and monitor progress to ensure quality and on-time completion
  • Enforce safety standards and build a safety-first culture in the field and in the shop
  • Review service calls, confirm accurate job notes, and ensure proper documentation
  • Serve as the escalation point for customer issues and help resolve problems fast
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for parts, materials, and service needs
  • Maintain service records, reports, and department documentation
  • Partner closely with the Sales team by supporting quoting and service-related input
  • Identify gaps in technician performance and train or correct quickly
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of Service Manager experience in HVAC
  • High school diploma required
  • Strong working knowledge of service operations: dispatching, field scheduling, and technician utilization
  • Comfortable using Word, Outlook, and service dispatch software
  • Confident people leader who can set expectations and enforce standards
  • Strong follow-through on documentation and job details
  • Onsite availability, Monday-Friday
  • Stable work history with evidence of leading teams through real volume
