The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) assesses and monitors clients admitted for Residential and Withdrawal Management Programs. LVN provides care in accordance with treatment objectives. The LVN displays professional boundaries and standards, maintains cultural sensitivity at all times, treats all clients with respect, care, and concern, and works with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible treatment outcome for our clients.

This is a union position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Individual Treatment:
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to plan treatments and deliver services effectively.
  • Create and evaluate personalized treatment plans for clients and monitor their progress.
  • Assist in developing services tailored to meet clients' needs.
  • Support the Medical Director and Supervising Registered Nurse in managing clients' medications and coordinating pharmacy services.
  • Ensure proper organization and maintenance of medication cabinet and oversee medication dispensing and tracking.
  • Coordinate medical appointments for clients, including physicals, and oversee lab work for medical staff.
  • Conduct medication education and health and wellness groups for clients.
  • Provide medication education consultations to staff and interns and deliver basic nursing services as needed.
Treatment Setting:
  • Work as an active team member, collaborating closely with internal and external team members.
  • Perform crisis intervention and communicate effectively with the treatment team during unforeseen situations.
  • Document client updates and incidents daily in the facility log.
  • Attend required trainings and meetings.
Documentation:
  • Collaborate with clients and resources to develop and maintain treatment plans, progress notes, and other documentation.
  • Properly document all provided services, complete admission, and discharge paperwork.
  • Ensure documentation compliance with agency, HIPAA, 42

    CFR, and other standards to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements.
  • Review medical director notes for billing accuracy and confirm progress notes for all scheduled appointments.
General Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to agency policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in internal and external meetings as assigned.
  • Ensure the provision of quality services through compliance with training requirements.
  • Arrange work schedule according to agency needs, which may include weekends, overnights, and holidays.
  • Meet expected performance standards as assigned by supervisor.

And perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS Education, Certification, or Licensure
  • Completion of an accredited LVN program.
  • Current LVN licensure in California.
  • Valid BLS Certification and First Aid Certification.
  • Valid California driver’s license and access to registered and insured transportation.
Experience
  • Experience and commitment to working with diverse communities.
  • Experience working with dual diagnosis populations.
  • Nursing experience in a residential substance abuse treatment or withdrawal management setting, community mental health, behavioral health, or recovery treatment center preferred.

Must complete background check or livescan clearance.
