Position: ASSURE Patient Specialist - Escondido, CA (Per Diem/On Call)

The Kestra team has over 400 years of combined experience in the external and internal cardiac medical device markets. Founded in 2014, Kestra delivers high‑quality wearable defibrillators that combine cutting‑edge technology with a patient‑centric design.

The ASSURE Patient Specialist (APS) conducts patient fitting activities to support the sales organization and the Regional Clinical Advisors (RCA). The APS will serve as the local patient‑care representative, providing effective and efficient patient fittings throughout the region.

This is a paid per‑fitting position.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a contractor ASSURE® Patient Specialist to fit and train patients with a wearable defibrillator, following assignments dispatched from corporate headquarters.
  • Provide instruction and instill confidence in Assure® patients, demonstrating patient‑care skills.
  • Contact prescribers, caregivers, and patients to schedule services.
  • Accept assignments that may include daytime, evening, and weekend hours.
  • Travel to hospitals, patient homes, and other healthcare facilities to provide fitting services.
  • Measure patients to determine the correct garment size.
  • Review and transmit essential paperwork, enabling patients to receive the Assure® garment and services.
  • Manage inventory of Assure® system kits, garments, and electronic equipment used in fittings.
  • Maintain flexibility in work schedule and accept competitive pay.
  • Adhere to the Pledge of Confidentiality – no patient information may be released outside the company without signed permission, and discussions of patient cases are restricted to internal personnel directly involved with the case.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of paid patient‑care experience (excluding family caregiving).
  • Clinical or engineering background such as nurses, cardiac device sales representatives, clinical engineers, catheterization lab technicians, physician assistants, or ECG technicians.
  • Disclosure of personal NPI number (if applicable).
  • Completion of a background check;
    Florida and Ohio candidates must complete a level‑2 screening paid by Kestra.
  • Willingness to pay an annual DME fee (deducted from the completed work order) and vendor‑credentialing fees during a 90‑day probationary period.
  • Valid driver’s license in the state of residence with a clean driving record.
  • Consistent ability to work remotely and disclose potential relationships or referral sources.
  • Achieve credentialing for hospital system entry, including vaccination records, background check, drug screening, hospital policies, and online courses (HIPAA, Bloodborne Pathogens, Electrical/Fire Safety).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and assist clinicians in patient care.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).

Preferred qualifications:

knowledge of MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams; direct cardiac patient‑care experience (RN, RT, CVIS, Paramedic, CRM).

  • Frequent transportation by car, repetitive motions (wrists, hands, fingers), prolonged standing or sitting, computer use, occasional bending and stooping.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lb unassisted from and out of a vehicle.
  • Frequent phone and business machine use.

Travel is required by car within agreed geography.
