ALL Para educator SPED I, II, and SCSB are eligible to apply.
Expanded Learning Opportunities are subject to Board Approval.
Number of positions needed will be determined based on enrollment and are subject to change.
Priority Consideration will be given to those that are available to work the duration of the program and according to the Merit Rules listed below. Current substitutes will be eligible for selection AFTER priorities a-c are met.
- a) Employees who have worked in the classification, have successfully met the expectations of the class, and maintained necessary licenses or other requirements of the assignment.
- b) Qualified employees working in other related classifications and successfully met the expectations of those classes, and maintained necessary licenses or other requirements of the assignment.
- c) Qualified employees working in non-related classifications but who meet the minimum requirements of the classification for the assignment so as to provide evidence of ability to perform in such assignment.
- d) Qualified persons not currently employed by the District in a regular‑status position but meet the requirements of the classification for the assignment.
- e) Qualified persons not currently employed by the District but meet the requirements of the classification for the assignment.
Position Details:
Classified positions in Special Education include: Para educator Special Education I (non‑severe) and SCSB (number of assignments dependent on enrollment) 8 hours/day.
Hours: 7:30 am‑4:00 pm (8.0 hpd) or 8:00 am‑4:30 pm (8.0 hpd), April 6 – Friday, April 10, 2026.
Salary per Merit Rule 7.300.3: A regular employee working in a summer school/extended year/intersession assignment in his/her own class, a lower class, or a higher class for which "out of class" does not apply, shall be paid at his/her own hourly rate, and shall receive such benefit as are required by law. A regular employee working in a higher class for which "out of class" provisions apply, shall be paid in accordance with Rule 7.300.11.
Rate of Pay
:
Employees will be compensated at their hourly rate per Merit Rule 7.300.3. Overtime (after 8 hours per day) will be paid at 1.5 times their regular pay rate.
Note:
4/7‑4/8 are designated as Bargained Vacation on the SPED work calendar. As a result, day(s) will be converted to a "paid workday" and vacation leave will be credited back to an employee’s leave balance (up to 8 hours). Extra hours will be paid for any hours over an employee's regular assignment hours per day. Overtime will be paid for any hours worked over 8 hours per day.
