Dental Surgical Assistant

Job Summary

Our patient-focused periodontics practice is looking for a Surgical Assistant to join our team for 4 days a week! The hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:45am to 4:30pm.

• Anticipate and assist the periodontist during examinations and treatment procedures.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment.
• Set up and breakdown treatment rooms for dental procedures.
• Greet, prepare and seat patients for treatment.
• Take CT scans and radiographs (panoramic, FMX, vertical bitewings, bitewings and PAs) and periodontal charting.
• Take digital and alginate impressions, pour up models.
• Conduct work in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety, and OSHA guidelines.
• Record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patient.
• Provide post-operative instructions prescribed and directed by the doctor in charge.
• Record treatment information in patient records.
• Participate in the achievement of patient satisfaction and office production goals by working efficiently and providing a high level of patient service.

• Hardworking and detail-oriented.
• Friendly and able to connect with patients.
• Able to work with blood and assist in surgery for up to 8 hours per day.
• Digital X-ray license.
• Completion of Dental Practice Act.
• HIPAA compliant.
• Basic Life Support.
• Infection Control.
• Ability to work in a team setting, interested in being cross-trained.
• Proficient with computers and technology.
• Takes initiative and self-motivated.
• Near vision and finger dexterity.
• Ability to move and/or lift up to 10 lbs.
• Experience with Eaglesoft.
• Surgical experience preferred.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
