The Pinery is a wholesale outdoor nursery that grows potted plants for B2B sales nationwide in supermarket floral departments, garden centers, and florist shops. We are located in Escondido, CA, just 30 minutes from downtown San Diego and 40 minutes from Carlsbad, CA. We are a passionate and driven team that has worked hard to brand The Pinery in the marketplace as a high-quality grower with superior customer service.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned accounts payable specialist with some experience in staff accounting. They will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of invoices, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and assisting in month-end & staff accounting procedures.

• Review and verify invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies.
• Code and enter invoices into the accounting system for processing.
• Prepare and process weekly payment runs, including checks, electronic transfers, and ACH payments.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions.
• Reconcile account statements and resolve any discrepancies with vendors.
• Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice-related inquiries and discrepancies.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors through effective communication.
• Reconcile and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting regulations.
• Process month-end journal entries
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and month-end reconciliations.
• Assist in the development and improvement of accounts payable processes and procedures.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
• Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro is a plus
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of relevant tax regulations and reporting requirements.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
