Accounting Clerk

Description

Robert Half is supporting a reputable construction/trades company in Escondido seeking a detail-focused, reliable Accounting Clerk to support daily AP/AR operations, job costing, vendor communication, and office coordination. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys a steady workflow, accuracy, and teamwork in a friendly office environment.

What You'll Do

+ Code and enter invoices; verify job cost codes, POs, delivery slips, and approvals

+ Assist AR with billing packets, deposits, basic collections outreach, and reconciliations

+ Maintain vendor files, W‑9s, insurance certificates, and subcontractor compliance documents

+ Reconcile statements and research vendor discrepancies

+ Assist with check runs, ACH payments, and credit card expense tracking

+ Prepare job cost reports and support project managers with invoice status updates

+ Maintain organized filing systems (digital and physical) for audits and job records

+ Assist with front desk tasks, phones, and general admin support as needed

+ Support month-end close with simple JEs and basic reconciliations

Requirements

+ 1-3+ years accounting or administrative experience

+ Construction or job cost exposure highly preferred

+ Strong Excel skills (sorting, filters)

+

Experience with Quick Books, Sage, or Viewpoint is a plus

+ Dependable, detail-oriented, and team-focused
