A privately held commercial and industrial mechanical contracting firm headquartered in Escondido, California, is hiring an Accounting Manager. This role is essential for the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the organization. The Accounting Manager will oversee critical accounting functions, including certified payroll and compliance with construction wage requirements. Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000 / Year DOE

• Oversee certified payroll and ensure compliance with construction and prevailing wage requirements.
• Act as a backup for payroll as the company transitions away from a dedicated payroll role.
• Assist in getting Accounts Payable up to date and maintain smooth operations.
• Support customer billing and progress billing processes.
• Assist with general accounting tasks, including reconciliations and basic reporting.
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure day-to-day accounting operations run efficiently.
• Provide light HR support, including tracking employee training completion and assisting with training documents.
• Address office needs as required, such as ordering supplies.

• 5 - 7+ years of accounting experience, with experience in certified payroll required.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience in the construction industry is preferred.
• Familiarity with Sage 300 is a plus.
