Overview
The PAC (Power, Automation & Controls) Technician will be a technical SME tasked with inventory movement and maintenance, data management, statistical analysis of equipment performance, robotic troubleshooting, PLC program troubleshooting, component programming, instrumentation troubleshooting, and assisting operations with systemic moves all within the Distribution Warehouse. The environment is primarily in a control room, but the team member will be trained to assist in all hands-on responsibilities when needed.
Tasks interfacing with the Warehouse Execution System (WES) and Warehouse Control System (WCS) are mission critical for day-to-day operations. The individual will join the Chick-fil-A Supply LLC family with the goal of providing caring, consistent, and reliable service through its distribution networks to support Chick-fil-A restaurants and their communities. The Chick-fil-A Supply service networks are comprised of two components:
Distribution Center and Transportation.
- Inventory movement and maintenance
- Data management and statistical analysis of equipment performance
- Robotic troubleshooting and PLC program troubleshooting
- Component programming and instrumentation troubleshooting
- Assist operations with systemic moves in the distribution warehouse
- Interface with Warehouse Execution System (WES) and Warehouse Control System (WCS) as part of daily operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability and performance

- Strong technical background to troubleshoot and eliminate tough problems and implement new solutions
- Experience coordinating warehouse system events via WMS or WES
- Ability to execute and run weekly to monthly reports on equipment performance and present findings to the Power Automation and Controls Engineering Manager
- Handle level 1 events and outages with WMS/WES and escalate as needed
- Handle level 1 to 2 events and outages with robotic equipment, PLC controls, HMI visualization, instrumentation, and motion drive equipment
- Comfortable troubleshooting PLC code (ladder logic, function block, or structured text) and visualization screens (FTView Studio, Ignition, etc.)
- Work in environments that require Arc Flash PPE for low voltage areas (environments will not exceed 480
VAC 3-phase) - Capable of moving compliant and non-compliant product in a systematic and controlled fashion
- Primary point of contact for Warehouse Inventory for Cold Storage operations, including cycle counts, recalls, and inventory reconciliation
- Coordinating disaster recovery processes with the operations team
- Autonomous maintenance tasks, clean inspection and lubrication, and preventative maintenance of automation equipment
- Ability to develop Root Cause Analysis and drive work in a structured, systematic form
- High School Diploma
- Associate’s Degree
- Bachelors of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial and Systems Engineering
- Technical degrees related to Electrical Power and Controls, Automation, Industrial Systems, Robotics, or Supply Chain
- Experience in an Industrial, Manufacturing and/or Distribution environment
