Procurement Category Specialist
Location: Erlanger, KY 41018 (Onsite).
Pay: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
Supports raw material procurement for North America Human Nutrition manufacturing sites.
Reports to the Regional Procurement Director, North America.
Works in a fast-paced environment requiring strong problem-solving, organization, and analytical skills.
Maintains a customer-focused approach while working independently and cross-functionally.
Ensures materials, vendors, and data are accurate and approved so production launches on time.
Strong workflow and supplier management reduces supply risk, delays, and cost issues.
Cross-functional coordination keeps product development, quality, and regulatory efforts aligned.
Review, initiate, manage, and close Production “Phase In” workflow requests in AS400.
Manage workflows for new formulations, revised formulas, raw material inactivation, and mass replacements through all approval stages.
Oversee supplier and distributor name or address changes within workflows.
Maintain raw material approval databases (Trace Gains or similar) for North America Nutrition sites.
Lead new vendor and ingredient setup and collect required documentation.
Manage secondary sourcing raw material workflows.
Facilitate weekly cross-functional raw material priority meetings to improve timelines.
Coordinate data between PD&A, Regulatory, Quality, and other teams to ensure accuracy and timely closure.
Resolve receiving and Accounts Payable issues, including pricing or volume discrepancies.
Develop and distribute monthly ingredient forecasts to key suppliers.
Prepare and share monthly supplier scorecards.
Maintain accurate inventory records in AS400.
Track sample requests for PD&A and Strategic Procurement.
Gather regulatory documentation for ingredients and support sourcing projects (RFX) as needed.
Manage Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) compliance documentation and support raw material scouting.
Support Sales requests, raw material escalations, and new product development activities in the ERP system.
Assist Corporate Procurement and support 1
ADM (SAP) standardization initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
2–4 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Purchasing, or Materials Management.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience with Power BI preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
Comfortable sitting for extended periods and handling frequent phone communication.
