+ Demonstrates strong critical-thinking and clinical judgment skills in the assessment and management of patient care.

Qualifications and Experience
+ Demonstrates the knowledge and skills required to provide age-appropriate care and effectively interact with patients served by the assigned unit.
+ Demonstrates understanding of growth and development principles across the lifespan and the ability to assess patient data to identify age-specific needs.
+ Interprets clinical information accurately to provide care in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
+ Zero to two (0-2) years of nursing experience required.
+ Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
+ Demonstrates strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills related to patient care.
+ Ability to lead and support others in the application of the nursing process.
+ Ability to work productively in a complex healthcare environment while managing multiple and changing priorities and specialized equipment.
+ Establishes and maintains positive, professional, and caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients and families.
Physical Requirements
+ Mobility, visual acuity, and manual dexterity required.
+ Physical stamina to support frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.
Scheduling Options
UPMC offers a variety of flexible scheduling options. In addition to traditional rotating or flexible shifts, special programs are available for nurses who prefer primarily night or weekend shifts, which include premium pay differentials.
Employees hired into or transitioning to these programs must have a minimum of six (6) months of nursing experience and may be required to complete orientation during regular business hours. Candidates interested in these programs should notify their recruiter during the interview process.
