Position: Clerical Assistant 2

Position

The Department of Human Services, Loysville Youth Development Center (LYDC) is seeking a dedicated Clerical Assistant 2 that will provide quality clerical support services in an organization that takes pride in helping youth. This position is responsible for performing clerical work including typing, account management, filing, receptionist duties, and the application of independent judgment in performing these tasks.

Description of Work

The Clerical Assistant 2 will be responsible for performing a wide range of clerical duties including preparing reports, letters, forms, evaluations, and all other materials deemed necessary by administrative and technical staff to ensure clear, professional, and effective communication for the residential program. Proofread typed materials to ensure typographical and grammatical correctness and completeness.

The predominant expectation includes critical editing of a myriad of reports submitted to the Pennsylvania Juvenile Court Systems. The editing process involves interpretation of data presented in several different disciplines, producing an accurate execution of the data, and deducing any conflicting information among disciplines. Apply critical thinking skills so that all information distributed to the court systems is presented professionally and accurately, without inconsistencies.

Work

Schedule and Additional Information
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday thru Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Hours may change based on operational needs.
  • Travel and overtime as needed.

  • Telework:
    May be eligible to telework part time after completing the probation period. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Loysville, Pennsylvania.

    The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
  • Salary:
    New hires in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania start at $36,108 (before taxes).

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility Minimum Experience and Training Requirements
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements

Legal Requirements
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
