Sales Engineer – Water Treatment Chemistry (B2B)

The client is a respected provider of water treatment chemistry and technical support across industrial, commercial and local authority sectors. We supply specialist chemical solutions, equipment and services that keep critical systems such as boilers, cooling towers and heating loops running safely and efficiently.
We’re now looking for an experienced Sales Engineer to join our team, managing a portfolio of water treatment clients while driving new business growth.
The Role
As a Sales Engineer, you will:
Promote our full range of water treatment chemistry solutions and technical products to new B2B industrial clients.
Manage and expand an existing portfolio of water treatment accounts, ensuring excellent service and long‑term retention.
Identify opportunities for additional products, new sites and enhanced service packages.
Provide technical advice to clients across steam boilers, cooling towers, closed systems and similar plant.
Maintain regular contact with customers to ensure satisfaction, resolve issues and support system performance.
Achieve sales targets and budgets across your region or customer group.
Earn additional bonuses for exceeding sales quota.
Note:
It is a hands‑on, technical sales position involving customer visits, demonstrations and problem‑solving.
The Person
We’re looking for a confident, well‑presented communicator who thrives in a technical, client‑facing environment. You should be comfortable picking up the phone, building relationships and developing new business through persistence and proactive outreach.
Key Competencies
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Technical knowledge of water treatment chemistry
Experience working with boilers, cooling towers, steam systems or similar plant
Proven B2B sales ability
Account management experience
Planning, organisation and territory management
Budgeting and forecasting capability
Technical mindset with the ability to confidently recommend solutions
