Scrub Nurse/Practitioner – Epsom Hospital
Band 6, 37.5 hours per week, permanent

Our theatre teams have a proven track record of providing high-quality care to our patients and are looking for a Registered Scrub Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner who is committed to providing consistent gold standard. Epsom Hospital has 5 main theatres and 2 day surgery theatres.
This post is suitable for an experienced registered theatre scrub nurse or ODP looking to progress and enhance their skills. Our ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, pro‑active team player who demonstrates excellent communication and leadership skills.
A flexible approach is essential as an on‑call commitment and internal rotation is required for this post.

Responsibilities- Develop and update protocols and related practice in line with current research
- Care delivered to patients and monitoring of standards of care
- Selection, deployment, training and development of staff and students
- Assesses and develops and implements specialised nursing packages of care and works in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team to maintain standard
- To create and support an environment of lifelong learning and continuous professional development
- Refers and orders specialised tests in line with agreed protocols and clinical governance guidelines.
- To assist in the development of evidence based practice in the renal service.
- Educational strategies that ensure patient care needs are met.
- Provides highly specialised nursing advice to ensure appropriate treatment and care is is always delivered to the patient.
- Is accountable for the provision, organisation, and direction of the nursing care for the patient in his/her care.
