Cardiology Specialist Nurse - Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic - Band 7

If you are committed to Cardiology, love ECGs and want to chance to work autonomously in a chest pain clinic, you will be well supported and trained within our ever expanding department.

Main duties of the job

Assessing chest pain.

Diagnosing angina and recommending treatment and diagnostic investigations

Interpreting results. Working closely with the wider cardiology team.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Working independently with the Cardiology nurses, the cath lab and the consultants to ensure swift assessment and access to early coronary intervention.

Person specification Qualifications
  • • Registered professional (NMC) with evidence of regular updating
  • • Evidence of significant professional development and experience with a focus on cardiology, particularly heart disease
  • Experience working in RACPC Non-Medical Independent prescriber
  • Nurse practitioner qualification or equivalent Level 6/7
Experience
  • • Extensive clinical experience in the management of CHD and Cardiology
  • • Experience of clinical audit.
  • Evidence of ability to develop services and influence outcomes
  • Proven commitment to cardiology nursing by evidence of professional development.
Knowledge
  • • Cannulation and venepuncture competent
  • Recent teaching experience at senior nursing level
