Work Based Learning Coordinator

Ephrata Area School District, 803 Oak Boulevard, Ephrata, PA, is currently recruiting for our Work Based Learning Coordintor.

The Work Based Learning Coordinator advances the district's career readiness and workforce development goals by connecting students, educators, employers, and community partners to design, implement, and oversee high-quality work-based learning experiences. This role facilitates student internships and career exploration opportunities, provides instruction in workplace readiness and professional skills, ensures compliance with state and district guidelines, and serves as a liaison between the school and the business community to align educational outcomes with current workforce expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Included but not limited to:

* Connects students, educators, employers, and community partners to expand career readiness opportunities. This position supports the development and coordination of work-based learning experiences, career exploration, and employer engagement initiatives that align with the district's educational and workforce development goals.

* Instructs students in workplace regulations specified in state law, workplace etiquette and expectations, and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.

* Develop plans and schedules for student monitoring and workplace site visits.

* Prepares appropriate instructional aids and display materials to enhance learning.

* Provide guidance and support to students in career exploration, career pathways, employability skills, and workplace readiness.

* Maintains a record of Student attendance and reports on student internship/workplace progress assessments and job hours. Establishes and maintains standard of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive environment in the internship/workplace setting.

* Instruct students in importance and significance of accuracy, neatness, efficiency, resourcefulness, and good work habits in obtaining and retaining employment in business.

* Works with the local business community to set up and oversee student internships.

* Evaluates each student's performance, knowledge, and skills; prepares progress reports and employment references for students as required.

* Maintains continued contact with local business community to keep in touch with job entry requirements and current business methods and equipment. Serve as a liaison between the school district, local businesses, postsecondary institutions, and community organizations. Facilitate employer engagement, including recruitment of business partners and development of student placements.

* Organize instruction using learning objectives with clearly defined student outcomes.

* Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.

* Collaborate with school counselors, teachers, administrators, and support staff to integrate career readiness across the curriculum and participates cooperatively with appropriate administrators to develop the method by which he/she will be evaluated in conformance with district guidelines.

* Communicates with parents and school counselors on student progress.

* Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems.

* Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned workday. Traveling from high school to internship/work sites is expected. There may be occasional meetings in the community outside of the regular school day.

* Participates in curriculum and other developmental programs.

* Participates in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities.

* Performs other duties as many, from time to time be assigned by the supervisor

* Ensure compliance with state and district guidelines related to cooperative education and career readiness programs.

* Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree

* Holds an appropriate certificate from the Pennsylvania Department of Education in Business, Computer and Information Technology. Co-op Certification preferred.

* Prior experience teaching at the secondary or post-secondary level is desirable.

* Deep knowledge of the subject matter.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.

* Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

* Proficiency in using educational technology tools and software for instruction.

* Excellent organizational and time management skills.

* Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.

* Commitment to ongoing professional development and improvement.
