Job Summary

Franciscan Medical Group, as part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, is currently looking for a full‑time Patient Access Rep for the fast‑paced Franciscan Internal Medicine Clinic in Enumclaw, WA. The role supports a team with excellent growth opportunities and offers free parking. No nights, weekends, or organizationally recognized holidays are required.

This position performs a variety of general administrative support duties associated with the patient intake process for the FMG outpatient clinics. Incumbents interact directly with patients at the front desk or on the phone to complete follow‑up activities.

Key responsibilities include:

checking patients in/out, entering demographic and financial data, gathering and validating insurance information using routine methods, scheduling appointments, collecting co‑pays and prior balances, processing referrals, authorizations and pre‑certifications for ancillary testing or surgical procedures, ensuring referral needs are fulfilled, determining insurance benefit coverage for hardware such as retail contact lenses, and working with patients to meet their needs by offering multiple options and solutions.

• Registers and/or checks patients in/out.
• Handles and reconciles payments.
• Continually monitors and reconciles issues prior to patient visit.
• Processes referral orders and/or pre‑authorizations.
• Coordinates appointments and ancillary services.
• Responds to patient questions regarding routine billing and insurance matters.
• Coordinates patient instructional/education activities.

• One year of customer service work experience is required, two years preferred. Healthcare or
• Call Center Experience Preferred.

$23.20 - $30.90 /hour
