The responsibilities of the Transportation Supervisor will include:

The Transportation Supervisor has the primary responsibility of managing transportation to and from the Freshpet manufacturing campus. This includes direct leadership of the Freshpet drivers, fleet management, local carrier interface and other transportation related responsibilities.

• Direct leader of Freshpet truck drivers, including DOT compliance, driver scheduling, and daily work assignments.
• Primary responsibility for Freshpet fleet management. Ensures tractors and trailers meet DOT requirements, as well as management of the maintenance and service program, including a comprehensive vehicle PM program. Responsible for vehicle licensing of all Freshpet vehicles in the campus location.

• Additional transportation management responsibilities include daily requests for inbound appointments at 3PL warehouse, coordination and scheduling of local carriers from Freshpet to 3PL warehouse, and scheduling of inbound shipments from local suppliers.
• Other Transportation related job duties as assigned.

• 5+ years of Transportation Management and/or Fleet Management experience (required)
• Prior experience of managing truck drivers
• Deep understanding of DOT laws and regulations
• Experience managing 3PL or 4PL providers
• Competency in Microsoft office applications
• Strong sense of urgency & attention to detail

• Excellent organization, communication and follow-up skills
• Able to influence others & manage conflict
• Ability to direct and take constructive action in ambiguous situations
• Extremely high standards of excellence
• Analytical with a methodical approach to problem solving

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or applicable field preferred; HS Diploma with equivalent management experience required.

The range for this position is: $65,000-$80,000

The salary range provided above is the range of the wages that we will pay for the listed position. A final determination on the wages within this range is based on a number of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to the required work location, previous work experience, skill set, and wage rates for comparable positions.
