Surface Water Plant Operator

We are hiring a Surface Water Plant Operator to operate, monitor, and maintain a municipal surface water treatment plant. Candidates must hold at least a current Texas Class D Water Operator License; a current Texas Class C Surface Water License is preferred. The role ensures safe, compliant production of potable water and supports plant maintenance and reporting duties.

• Operate and monitor treatment processes, chemical feed systems, pumps, filters, and associated equipment.
• Collect, test, and document water samples; maintain accurate daily logs and regulatory reports.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and process issues, and coordinate repairs.
• Start‑up and shutdown of plant systems and emergency response as required.
• Ensure compliance with TCEQ rules, safety procedures, and plant SOPs.
• Assist with inventory control of chemicals, parts, and supplies.
• Work rotating shifts, weekends, or on‑call as required.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma/GED
• License:
  Texas Class C Drivers License. Current Texas Class D Surface Water Operator License (minimum).
• Experience:
  
  Hands‑on experience in a water treatment plant or related mechanical/equipment operation preferred.
• Skills:
  
  Basic math, recordkeeping, and ability to follow written procedures; good communication and teamwork.
• Physical:
  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work outdoors in varying weather, and wear required PPE.

• License:
  Current Texas Class C Surface Water Operator License.
• Prior experience with chemical feed systems, SCADA, pumps, valves, and membrane or conventional treatment processes.
• Class B or higher CDL is preferred.

• Pay: $35,000-$50,000 Depending on Qualifications.
