Planner / Scheduler (Maximo)

* Job Summary:

** Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the
** Planner/Scheduler
** is responsible for coordinating, planning, scheduling, and supporting maintenance activities using
** Maximo CMMS**. This role ensures work orders are properly planned with the required labor, materials, tools, documentation, and safety considerations in place before execution. The Planner/Scheduler plays a key role in optimizing maintenance efficiency, minimizing downtime, and supporting plant reliability initiatives.
** This is a Safety Sensitive position.
**** Key Responsibilities
*** Review, validate, and approve maintenance work requests for accuracy, scope, priority, labor, materials, and safety; escalate issues to the Reliability Engineer as needed
* Spend ~30% of time on the production floor to verify job scope, support planning, and coordinate with maintenance and operations teams
* Collaborate with Production Supervisors and Superintendents to ensure equipment readiness for scheduled and opportunistic maintenance
* Coordinate with Engineering to ensure all required documentation (drawings, BOMs, procedures, instructions) is available prior to execution
* Work closely with the Storeroom Coordinator to identify, kit, stage, and secure required parts ahead of scheduled work
* Coordinate with external vendors to ensure availability of specialized tools, equipment, and technical services
* Develop job plans and estimates; monitor execution to ensure work is completed within planned labor, materials, and safety expectations
* Lead planning and scheduling meetings, manage and prioritize the maintenance backlog based on asset criticality, and support shutdown planning
* Track planning and scheduling KPIs, generate reports, provide feedback before closing work orders, and support CMMS (Maximo) training and usage
* Promote safety, continuous improvement, and collaboration while supporting corporate reliability initiatives and other assigned projects
** Qualifications
* ** Minimum 5 years of maintenance planning and scheduling experience using Maximo CMMS
* Mechanical and/or Electrical background required; post-secondary degree or technical diploma preferred
* Strong craft knowledge with proven ability to accurately estimate labor hours, materials, and skill requirements
* Demonstrated ability to visualize, plan, and clearly communicate work execution
* Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
* Proven leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management abilities
* Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving sk
* Highly organized with strong time-management, prioritization, and multitasking capabilities
* Ability to create clear, accurate, and easy-to-follow work instructions
* Proficient in interpreting blueprints, machine drawings, and process diagrams; strong understanding of maintenance processes, planning best practices, storeroom operations, and Microsoft Office tools
