The Fabrication Technician will work directly with Service Managers, Foreman, and Service Writers as needed. He/She must be able to perform with a minimum of supervision in the areas of frame repairs, axle alignment, fabrication and mechanical repairs to suspension, axles, brakes, and mounting of 5th wheels, winches, PTO’s, fenders, etc.

• Uses all tools of the trade with proficiency, including shop machines, power tools, alignment equipment, welders, torch, press, cut‑off saw, etc., and maintains them along with personal tools.
• Reads and understands blueprints and technical publications, including service manuals and service bulletins, and uses this information to perform the work.
• Determines the usability of all associated parts and lists and orders all needed parts.
• Writes detailed work reports for each individual repair.
• Uses or learns to use the computer to punch on and off repair orders, and an electronic time clock.
• Performs repairs within an accepted time standard.
• Completes all tasks in a safe manner.
• Trains helpers in a productive manner.
• Follows Bruckner policy and procedure, both implied and expressed.
• Works with a minimum of supervision.
• Is a good steward of company tools and resources.
• Achieves and maintains certifications as required by the company, OEMs, or Federal Law.
• Willing to perform other miscellaneous functions as required, such as clean up, steam clean, salvage yard work, etc., related to the business.

• High School Diploma desired.
• Minimum 2-5 years as a mechanic and/or alignment professional, depending on competence level.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact well with customers, vendors, and co-workers in a positive and constructive manner.
• Ability to read and write in English and understand computer‑generated reports, office reports, invoices, etc.
• Capability to operate various computer diagnostic devices, PCs, and laptops.
• Good upper and lower toolbox with all needed hand tools to perform necessary repairs to trucks, including a ½ inch air impact wrench.

• Essential ability to maneuver around, in, on and under trucks to properly inspect and diagnose all types of problems and repairs.
